"FESTIVAL OF ANARCHY
The entire month of May is part of a Festival of Anarchy, with diverse anarchist-themed events occurring at different venues in Montreal.
--> The deadline to submit Festival of Anarchy events, to be included in our public calendar, is APRIL 1, 2009.
The following Festival of Anarchy events have been proposed; please send in your further proposals before April 1, with as much detail as possible. We will start promoting the festival later in April.
-> May 1: Anti-Capitalist Demontration (details tba)
-> May 11: Book Launch: “Lunch for Insurgents” (5-7pm) at Casa del Popolo (4873 boulevard St-Laurent)
-> May 13-14: The Fourth Montreal International Anarchist Theatre Festival, D.B. Clarke Theatre, (1455 de Maisonneuve Ouest), à 19h30
-> MAY 15: ANARCHIST CABARET, at L’Alizée (900 Ontario est), 8pm.
-> MAY 16: MONTREAL ANARCHIST BOOKFAIR, at the CEDA (2515 rue Delisle), 10am-6pm.
-> May 16: Party and BBQ after the Bookfair in the courtyard of the DIRA/Independent Media Center, behind 2033 St-Laurent, after 7pm.
-> MAY 17: DAY OF ANARCHIST WORKSHOPS, at the CEDA (2515 rue Delisle), 10am-5pm.
-> May 17: Q-Team Part at Il Motore (179 rue Jean-Talon Ouest), 10pm.
-> May 23: Multimedia workshop on collective struggles in the North and South (with PASC and the Beehive Collective) at the Bar Populaire (dès 19h), 6584 St-Laurent.
-> May 27: Political documentaries under the Stars at 2033 St-Laurent, 20h.
-> May 29: Occupation and demonstration by (and for) the Autonomous Social Center in Point-St-Charles (Charlevoix métro, evening).
-> May 30: Party organized by the Autonomous Social Center at 8pm. Location to be announced.*
The Bookfair collective compiles a Festival of Anarchy calendar, but we count on you to organize the actual Festival of Anarchy events. Get in touch to reserve a date for your event in May (calendar dates are "first come first served").
