Also, we have planned an action to start our civil litigation campaign. If you are local, join us on Mardi Gras, Tuesday, Feb 24th at noon at the State Capitol lawn in Saint Paul. Bring your kazoos, mardi gras masks, and notice of claim forms. We're going to have a procession through town and drop off our forms en masse. If you are from out of town, mail us your forms and we'll turn them in for you!

A while back, we produced "Civil Litigation 101: What You Need to Know to Make Them Pay," a pamphlet with some basic information about notice of claim forms, civil suits, and statutes of limitations. You can find this and other information at http://www.rncaftermath.org/resources/.
Now, you can also find more detailed information about filing civil suits by going to http://www.rncaftermath.org/get-involved/civil-litigation-group. This page is a work in progress, so check back often for updates and revisions.
You can also access the forms you need to file a notice of claim for potential civil suits by going to http://www.rncaftermath.org/resources/civil-litigation-forms. A notice of claim form is often the first step in filing a civil suit. In Minnesota, you have 180 days from the date of the incident to file a notice of claim. To find out the deadline for a claim you're considering, check out our website!
We're here to help you hold the state accountable for what they did to us during the RNC! Let us know if you have any questions or need help making sense of the intricate web of legal considerations inherent in filing a civil suit. Email us at suethebastards@riseup.net with any questions you have.
love and solidarity,
