"A New call for Submissions
Upheaval currently accepts letters, articles, and poetry. The submission guidelines are as follows:
Letter Submissions:
We love to get letters! For publishing purposes, they should be pertinent to the publication in that they either respond to, provide comments on or instigate discussion about a previously printed piece or relate feedback to Upheaval as a whole.
Article Submissions:
If you would like to submit an article to Upheaval, be aware that it should do at least one of these things:
*Agitate people towards action against their oppressors;
*Educate readers about an issue, from an anti-authoritarian, egalitarian perspective;
*Analyze main stream news from an anarchist perspective or report on news that is disregarded by main stream media;
*Raise the consciousness of the reader.
It should also be noted that the Upheaval Collective would like this publication to reflect the area from which it comes and we therefore appreciate pieces specific to Arizona. We also would like to encourage the inclusion of photos with pieces, however this is not a submission requirement.
Articles should not exceed 3000 words and there is no need to format.
Poetry Submissions:
Upheaval accepts poetry of a nature relevant to the publication and poems will be included based on the needs of each issue and space available.
Please note that by submitting a letter, article, or poem you are consenting to the possibility of having your work edited and published. We may return pieces with suggestions for revision.
