RNC Felony Support Group Update

"So here’s what’s happening with the 13 individuals not including the RNC 8 (who are all being charged in the same case and have a support site here: http://RNC8.org.):

* David Mahoney- who originally faced two charges and was then dropped to one- is now facing three counts of assault and three of making terroristic threats; for more info on his case, go to: http://helpdavemahoney.blogspot.com.

* 1 person has plead guilty to criminal damage to property and will be sentenced on December 12.

* 1 person- Matt DePalma- has taken a plea agreement in federal court, admitting to unlawful possession of destructive devices, a federal crime; he remains in custody and will probably be sentenced in early 2009.

* 2 people, Bradley Crowder and David McKay, remain in custody on federal charges, with their trial has been indefinetely postponed; the 6 people subpoenaed to a related grand jury have all had their subpoenas withdrawn. For more info, see the Grand Jury page at RNCaftermath.org.

The other 8 are out of jail - either on bond, bail or “OR” (Own Recognizance)- and are facing a variety of disproportionate charges such as Criminal Damage to Property, Making Terroristic Threats, and Riot. At this time, most of those charged have had 1st and 2nd appearances, and are in the discovery and pre-trial stages of the legal process.

What You Can Do:

1. Write Bradley Crowder and Matt DePalma, still in custody, at:

Inmate’s Name
Sherburne County Jail
13880 Highway 10

2. Seek out folks you know facing felonies and see what they need from you.

3. Spread the word about what really happened at the RNC; educate yourself and your community about resisting State repression; counter State and corporate propaganda.
